Crochet!

Hello again! Popping in to show a couple of things..
This is one of the afghans I was talking about, it uses the woven stitch. I got the pattern from Hooked on Needles. Pattern here.
I relly like this stitch, it moves fast and has a great texture. This will feel great to snuggle under and read!

Then I have my blue owl, my brother and I both made one. I think he's pretty sweet..my daughter wants one too. The pattern is from zoomyummy. Easy, great tutorial and pictures. I want to make a couple more, I want one for the cabin when we get it done.
I set him next to the first owl pillow I made, that was from a free sheet I found at Jo-ann's. I might have to start a collection..

Finally, a bit of fall. I made a handfull of things, I did forget to add a leaf I made to the picture. I have also finished another pumpkin like the large orange one but it is gold. I'll have to get a picture soon. I also found a few things I made a while back that I forgot about.
The orange pumpkin is a pattern from Lilana Wofsey Dohnert. The acorn and cornicopa are also from her. The leaf I made as well.
The pumpkin, squash and eggplant are free from Lion Brand. The indian corn I made from two different patterns. The tomato is from Lily sugar and cream. Last are the other three pumkins, all made from a pattern in Stitch Craft Create magazine. I've been busy..and my brother and I started a granny tree skirt today..my fingers are busy busy! Hope all is well for everyone..

Granny Square Apron

Hello! Just a pop in to show a little apron I made. I saw one at Tangled Happy's and thought of some squares I had sitting abandoned in my closet. The one I saw uses eight squares but I used twelve. I wanted it a little longer and to go further around. So it was quick to put together as I only had to sew the squares together, edge it and make the tie. Easy and cute!  You can find the pattern here.

Grandala Squares Update

Hello!!!! Well I have been busy on my grandala squares. I have a sketch done of the layout of the squares for the afghan and I finished one set of squares. I'm going to join them together then start the next set. I'm being a good girl and sewing ends in as I go. I've learned if I leave too much at the end then I get overwhelmed and then lazy and the project doesn't get finished. I'm really loving making these which helps as I do get bored very fast. I have even turned my head away from other patterns so as not to get distracted, that's not easy for me! I don't really make new years resolutions but if I had to it would be to finish a project before starting another. ( yeah that's gonna happen)! Hee Hee! So that's where I'm at. Super excited to start joining and then lay it on the bed to get an idea of how many sets I will need. I'll be back to post pics of that in the next day or two! Thanks for visiting!

Thrifting and Afghan Progress

I found this awesome basket in a store called Dunia. They sell handmade items from other countries. I've gone there the last two years for my  b-day with my mother in law. I said it would be perfect to hold some yarn or a current project. My daughter asked me "Is yarn all you ever think about?" I of course said "Why yes, it is!" She thinks I'm nuts.
But goodness doesn't it look adorable holding my yummy yarn and my giant granny afghan? I think so. I'm now on round 33. Not sure how big I'll make it but I'm enjoying working on it.
While out shopping, I also found these two placards, for 1.50 each. I love snoopy so I smashed them to me and ran to buy them. I'll knock you out of the way if I see old snoopy items. Really.
I was especially excited over this one as Race For Your Life Charlie Brown is my favorite peanuts movie. So That's what I've been up to. A little shopping and working on my afghan. This Friday a group of us are off to see the last Harry Potter. Can't wait for that, I love all things Harry Potter. Being that I'm really 16 inside instead of going on 41. So back soon with who knows what!

Granny Pillow

I started a big granny pillow using a pattern from crochet world. Then I found a pillow in my closet and the two squares I had made fit perfectly. I've only made a couple so far and I really like them. I tend to switch gears mid way through a project but it works for me. I'm starting another stash bag in green this time, I think I'll take it with me this weekend when we go camping. I might not write till I get back so happy fourth, everyone have a good time!

Crafty

Well I've been busy getting my craft room put back together. A little messy still but I can get around.
A little corner to sit and crochet while I watch my shows. My book shelf is looking good and I have some space to sit at my desk and dink around on my laptop.
After I finished the market bag I started a stash basket from the Purlbee. I can see I will need to make many more. It worked up pretty quickly and is a nice size. I had also started a bid granny basket. I have two squares so far. I'm hanging at my brother's for the day and I'm going to try to finish it. It's a pattern from the July/August 2011 Crochet Today magazine. My brother made one and it's very cute. I might get a little side tracked though as I first have a need to make a granny basket from Pickles. I'm using homespun so it should be a quick pattern.
I'm ready for some movie watching, crocheting and relaxing. Good day to all.

On a roll

I'm working through a few projects now, in between unpacking things and working with my husband. Having fun getting my craft room put back together. I want to find more time to blog, I've missed it.
I got my market bag finished, I can't say I'd use that pattern again but at least I have another bag. I'm kind of a bag freak.
I spent some time with my daughter, teaching her to make granny squares. these are her first three. She got better with each one. The great thing about Shelby is that she's a quick learner. Once or twice to see how it's done and off she goes!
I also started a big granny square bag from a pattern in the new crochet today magazine. I should of used a really thick yarn as I can tell it will be floppy. I'll just stuff it with yarn anyway! I have several other small things I'd like to make, that I have seen on Tangled happy. I think i'll need a few life times to make all the things I want to make! It is a lot if fun collecting patterns though, I love to look at the pictures even if i don't make them all.
Well, I'm off now, hubby will be here shortly and we have  a lot to do this evening. Happy crocheting!

A finished project and another one to go

I finally got a project finished! I made a pillow from Sarah London's pattern, which was promptly taken from me by my daughter. So I guess I will have to make another! The next one I think I will make with granny  squares. So now I'm working on finishing a market bag. The pattern is from lion brand. I loved this yarn when I saw it, it's red heart stripes. I'm determined to get some of these ufo's out of the way! And last but not least, I got a picture of the puppies playing with some yarn in my daughters extremely messy room. Coarse we are in the process of moving and she had everything she owns all over the floor so she could sort what to keep or toss. Happy vibes for me, I'm enjoying crocheting again and trying to get settled back in my house.

Light At The End Of The Tunnel!

This is the only thing I've managed to finish lately. I have not had time to crochet or blog at all. BUT! I am getting back together with my husband and I will be able to do all the things I did before. A nice long summer break stretching ahead, things to bake, crochet to be made, blogging to do and family time that means much more in the aftermath of an almost divorce. Looking forward to the future and reconnecting with everyone. Hope all is well with you all, if anyone is still out there!

A Job?

Just a brief drop in again, I got a call today from savers wanting me to come in for an interview in a couple days. I'm excited cuz I need a job so badly but I'm terrified because I am so introverted and I get panic attacks. I love thrift store shopping so hey, it might be a cool job for me. Anyway I'll be back soon, hopefully employed!

I went with yellow, green and orange.

This is Penelope. She's two months old and she is my son and daughter's dog.
This is Anubis. He's my little one. He is Penelope's brother.

This is Forrest, my son Cody,s dog. We have a houseful now and they keep me busy. I'm trying to get some projects done but I want to focus on the curtains as that's something I need right now. Well hope everyone is enjoying themselves and I will be back soon.

It's been awhile

Holy cow but I'm getting frustrated! I have some classes I am going to during the week and all these papers to get filled out so I can get a job. Kids to take care of and the house. Yes I'm whining! No, I just am not used to this pace I have to keep right now so I don't get to crochet very much. I also have two puppies who are a month and a half old. Precious puppy breath. I have started a pattern for Sarah London's favorite afghan and man I love the pattern! I really like the fp and bp stitches. I imagine it will take me a while like everything else but it is fun and something to look forward too. Next time I want to show some pictures of my pups since I finally emptied my camera. Some more crochet too. Have a good one, thanks for stopping in.

A Little Progress

Well I finally have a chance to post. I'm hanging with my brother, using his internet to check my e-mails and such. In between unpacking and getting the kids settled in a new school I managed to make some bunting and another african flower pot holder. Ready to work on something else over the weekend.  I started feeling the pressure building, all the moving, unpacking, worrying and general upheaval. Getting a divorce is stressful, not something I wanted to go through but found to be a necessity. So I took the day off so to speak, no unpacking, cleaning, thinking, just loosen up and try to be positive. I think I'll have a look around the web and try to find some inspiration for a new project. Crocheting and reading are my favorite things in the world, so relaxing and I can make some things to spiffy up my new house. New for me but it's actually from the 20's. It's old but it's mine. Some crochet will spruce it up right quick! So off I go, happy weekend to everyone.
